This year at the Vans US Open of Surf in Huntington Beach Carissa Moore rode away to the finals exhibiting her new 5’8" - 18.63 - 2.18 Lost SubScorcher 2 squash tail Hydroflex surfboard.
Carissa Moore was able to beat out her competition Courtney Conlogue in the finals by carving the rights with big powerful arcs and smashing the lefts with a vertical, tail blasting, backhand. This is Carissa’s seconds win at the US Open of Surfing winning back in 2010 as well, defeating Sally Fitzgibbons in the finals.
With the win this year, Carissa Moore vaults firmly ahead of Tyler Wright in the World Title ratings. Only two events remain in the season as Carissa is on her way to becoming the next Women’s World Champion of Surfing. We congratulate her on her spectacular win at the US Open of Surfing and are honored to have her riding our boards as she proceeds to reach new heights in the world of surfing.
In addition to Carissa Moore, Brett Simpson and Damo Hobgood also rode on our boards during the US Open of Surfing this year. Brett Simpson chose a 5’10" Lost Sub Buggy EPS. This board is a hybrid of the Lost Beach Buggy Rocker and foil, with the SubDriver outline and rails. Damo Hobgood shredded with a 5’9" - 18.63 - 2.25, Lost V2 Hydroflex shortboard. We are looking forward to producing more boards for these rad fellas.
