PCI’s 1st Annual Surf Movie Night Event

PCI - Project Concern International Annual Surf Movie Night - San Diego
In an effort to join the surf community in giving back, we decided to partner up with Project Concern International for their 1st Annual Surf Movie Night Event on Saturday, August 4th in San Diego. We are proud to donate a Lost Blacksheep at this event. The event will also feature Taylor Steele’s unreleased surf movie, Here and Now.

As a sponsor of the event, we will be donating a Lost Black Sheep 5’8’’ SuperCharger model surfboard to be auctioned off at the surf movie event.  Proceeds from the event will go to PCI, and specifically support PCI’s California Border Healthy Start Project.

Taylor Steele's surf movie: Here and Now

Taylor Steele’s film, Here and Now, was shot in one day by more than 25 filmmakers and surfers who worked in unison to document the world of surfing in a single 24-hour period.  Among others, the film features world champs Kelly Slater and Stephanie Gilmore.  This unique film project brings together shapers, photographers, legends, beginners, third world, first world and the surf world.  Taylor Steele’s unreleased film proves to create an epic account of the surfing world today.

All proceeds from ticket sales, food, and auction will to go to benefit Project Concern International.  PCI was founded in the U.S./Mexico border region in 1961 by Dr. James Turpin, who sought to bring change to millions of families across the globe by providing health, support, and opportunity to underprivileged individuals.  PCI specifically has invested interests in maternal and child health, chronic disease prevention, reaching vulnerable populations, and assisting in building the capacity of community-based organizations that serve underserved populations in the California/Baja California border region.

In order to raise money for their international relief efforts, PCI partnered with talented filmmaker, Taylor Steele, to create an event that seeks to bring the surf community together while also raising money for a worthy cause.
